Dear students:
Welcome back! Below is information on exam review. I would have preferred to start review last week—and in fact have had exams here since last Tuesday—but there were unexpected delays for unrelated reasons. My deepest apologies, as I have been champing at the bit to meet with you.
We’ll handle review as follows:
1. Review session: Next Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 9AM in room 102 (prior to Professor Smith’s Con Law class). I will go over the scores and averages, and discuss the essay questions. I suggest that prior to this session, you get your essays back from Ms. Rodriguez, as noted in item # 2 below.
2. Score sheets, essays, and your multiple-choice results: To get back your essays, score sheet, and multiple-choice results, please see Ms. Maite Rodriguez. You must see her. Importantly, I will give you back the original documents. Upon receiving them, you will need to sign an acknowledgement form and must retain the documents for at least one year running from the date of the final exam. Further details will be on the acknowledgement form. To be clear, I am returning the sole originals to you, so it will be your responsibility to keep them.
3. To see *explanations* of the answers for multiple-choice questions: make an appointment to see Ms. Rodriguez. She is setting up her own schedule, which does not involve me. The explanations must remain in Ms. Rodriguez’ office, and you may not keep or copy any of them.
4. To meet with me: please make an appointment. The schedule can be found at this link (you cannot edit the page, so don’t ask Google for permission). To make an appointment, please see Maite. The purpose of meeting with me is to help you determine what you did well (and why), what you did less-than-well (and why), and work up plans on how to improve both. Accordingly, prior to meeting with me you must do the following:
-
- Go to the Jan. 28 review session or watch the recording of it.
- Get your essay, score sheet, and scantron results from Maite; and
- Review the explanations for the multiple choices, which are available from Maite only.
If a student meets with me without doing these things, I may require them to reschedule after everyone else (that’s 84 people) have had their chance to meet with me.
To be clear, Ms. Rodriguez is in charge of all these documents, so she is the only person who can get access to them for you.
Thank you, and I wish you all well for the Spring semester!
